Joint Lesotho-South Africa Women’s Month 2015 Celebration Day One Symposium in Ladybrand

The Joint Lesotho – South Africa Women’s Month 2015 Symposium, held on the 21st of August 2015 at the Ladybrand Rugby Stadium Hall. Women from both Lesotho and South Africa came together to discuss issues relating to unfair labour treatment, women and children trafficking as well as concessions (duration of work permits for women who are domestic workers in South Africa) pertaining border movement for work reasons.

About five hundred (500) women attending the symposium were divided into four groups of commissions to give input and find redresses for these issues. The objectives of all the commissions were recorded and were added as contributions into the memorandum that was handed in to ministries dealing with women and children in both Lesotho and South Africa.
