Joint Lesotho – South Africa Women’s Month 2015 Celebration Day Two The Women’s March at the Maseru Cross Border

On the 22nd of August 2015, organised South African and Lesotho women took to the border to march against the unfair labour conditions that domestic workers find themselves in when employed in South Africa. They were also marching against women and children trafficking that takes place through the borders of these two countries, Ladybrand been the hub of these activities.

The women handed the memorandum to the respective delegation from the ministries that vested with dealing with issues relating to women and children in Lesotho and South Africa. The memorandum was informed by the recorded objectives from the commissions formed during the symposium on the 21st of August 2015 in Ladybrand.
